I was nearly 28 years old when I met Kristen and within a really short time (ie. a few days), we knew that we would spend our lives together. On paper, it sounded like it was way too fast but like that saying goes, “When you know, you know.” And I think that statement was even more true for us as we’d both had quite a few life experiences. We’d had long term relationships in the past and we’d travelled, met lots of people and formed our ideas about how we saw the world and our place in it. We knew what we wanted for ourselves and from our partner so when it arrived in the form of each other, it just made sense to us.
And that’s why stories like Chanel and Jarod’s are so amazing. They met when they were just 19 and 20 – I was still a kid then – and now, 10 years later, here they are, having shared so much of their lives with each other. They’ve studied, travelled and experienced so much together, a luxury that most of us aren’t afforded in life. And imagine spending so much of your life with your best friend, what an amazing thing to do.
